JEFF BARON grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Manhattan. He has a degree in film production from Northwestern and an M.B.A. from Harvard. He left a successful corporate career to be a writer. Since then, he wrote and sold four original screenplays. He has written the libretto for Escape, an original opera commissioned by the Los Angeles Opera through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and directed the world premiere of his and Dean X. Johnson's comic opera Song of Martina, which starred Lea DeLaria at Carnegie Hall. His film The Bruce Diet won the CINE Golden Eagle Award and has been featured at film festivals around the world. For television, he has written for The Tracey Ullman Show and A Year in the Life. Visiting Mr. Green, a 1998 Drama League Best Play nominee, which had successful runs in South Africa and Germany this year and will open soon in Australia, Israel and Belgium, is his first play. He is currently writing Mother's Day, his second play.
